The bodies are made from our moulds which have been taken from 1957 Porsche 356A and are made of fibreglass with a structural inner frame. The bodies are designed to fit on a shortened Beetle chassis, which we can do on our purpose made jigs.

The Porsche 356 was the first production car by the Austrian car company, Porsche Konstruktionen GesmbH in 1948. The original Porsche 356 is well known for its rear engine and rear wheel drive. It continued to be built until 1965. Ruetter Coachworks was the main supplier of Porsche bodies including the 356A. Reutter bodies are known throughout the industry for building Porsche bodies to a very high standard and the Porsche 356A Couple is no exception.

In 1955 the Porsche 356A Coupe was introduced to the existing Porsche line of Coupes, Cabriolets, and Speedsters. The Speedster had the nickname ‘T1’ after the factory name ‘Type 1’ for the Porsche 356A Coupe. 1957 saw the introduction of Type 2 or ‘T2’.
